So here’s and update on Abel, the world dictator of whom i wrote two days ago – You can read about it here
Abel although aldready dead, didn’t live through the weekend. This morning i found the sculpture smashed beside it’s podium, gently “put aside” towards the wall of the church – probably by the people cleaning the town square after Friday og Saturdays drinking mayhem.
Is the secret sculptor out there observing the tragic end of his work, concealing the tears in his eyes while citysweepers collect the pieces of his great dictator sculpture?
Probably not. I think that the artist saw this coming – it might even be a well thought out and calculated part of his / her intricate plans for the installation.. Anyhow – I did i drawing of the scene – I’m not the kind of person who posts pictures without making a drawing. No sir.
It turned out ok – it’s a lot of work to draw bricks, and they’re very little uniform in size.. Does anybody have some good examples of how one can draw brick-walls in a simplyfied manner?
Bricks- well anything that has a lot of repeated similar detail- draw some parts of it very detailed so that people will know that it is in fact bricks and you can get away with simple/sketchy/half finished bricks elsewhere. Like when you draw a tree- you wouldn’t have to draw each individual leaf- give an impression of a leaf- see?
Also, do you know the artist Banksy? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banksy
He does similar antics. Perhaps he’s in town……
People copy him often though. We had a Banky copy this-http://kittyaloneandi.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/banksy-girl.jpg in our tiny Texas town.
You can be sure the artist knew it would happen if it was made of clay and they are watching. And your documenting it- how cool is that?
You know you need to go leave your own mark on it. Maybe you will meet him/her this way. Write something on the wood, something that references the idea. He’s talking about Abel, maybe say something about Cain. Ha, you could even do a play on words with Cain- “How Cain you stand your work to me destroyed when you are clearly so Abel?” Or do verse about Abel or Cain, do some research. It would get their attention. Don’t worry about destroying another artists work- the main part is already smashed anyway and besides I promise you this person wants a response. And you may meet someone very interesting.
“How Cain you stand your work to me destroyed when you are clearly so Abel?” awesome! ;).. I’ll check to see if the remains are still around tomorrow morning !
