I couldn’t decide what to draw today, so I went and had a look in the kitchen. This was some of the things I saw. Three tomatoes and an eggplant.
The plate turned out weirdly flat though.
I once had a delicious Syrian (or maybe from Lebanon?) Dish based on eggplants (or aubergines) called baba ganoush.. Really really good.
That was 426
The flatness doesn’t bother me. Once again, the contrast of light and dark makes a great composition.
Baba ghanoush, hummus, tabbouleh and pita…now that’s a good meal!
Yummy! Thanks 🙂
The flatness doesn’t matter. The plate really just functions as a compositional element anyway. I think you’ve got great control of light and shade and creating dimension in this piece.
Thanks a lot 🙂 I think i get a lot out of the blackness of these inkpens.. things that are harder to obtain the the other mediums
The plate is secondary, actually I didn’t notice it until it was pointed out. The tomato stems and contrast of the eggplant are the things which leap out and were very well rendered. Thanks for sharing
Thanks a lot, I’m glad you like the drawing!
