This is Anote Tong, the president of Kiribati and he’s the second head-of-state to be added to my brand new “Rulers of the World” series! I found a list of the official countries in the world and found that there are 241 – please contact me though if your country is not on the list. It may have been compiled by someone who does not recognize you!
Anyway – Kiribati is a small state spread out over multiple islands far, far north-west from Australia. It’s got around 100.000 inhabitants and it looks like a place where I’d like to be!
I made this small bulleting board on Reddit called /r/onedrawingdaily – I know that it’s the name of my blog, but the idea is that everybody who wants to can join in and add their daily drawings so that it can be discussed in a public forum. As for now, it’s got one contributor (me) – but it would be nice to see other peoples daily drawings added to the discussion. I’m trying to find out how I can make a counter next to the username indicating how many days in a row a user has submitted drawings.. Right now i just write it in the post title.. Like “7/20” for 7 drawings each day in a row and 20 total drawings:
If a few regulars start posting, the board might grow in size and possible bring some interested people back to your blog, if you’re interested in that kind of thing ;)… Oh, the link : Here

That’s a really lovely portrait, well-rendered. Scotland is not on your list but ought to be. Although it functions as a state within the UK, it also has its own devolved parliament. The current First Minister is Nicola Sturgeon.
Thanks! And thanks for pointing that out! I’ll put scotland inthere with the others. Perhaps i’ll do Sturgeon next.
I’m on day number 5 and will join your Reddit group as it sounds a great way to keep motivated!
I’m loving all your portraits – is it time for another self portrait? I think it’s been a couple of months since your last 🙂
It HAS – i will do one one of these days.. I’ve wanted to do it for a while, but no more excuses!
I like the geography lesson as well as the portrait!
Thanks! There are loads of countries i don’t know anything about!
You have tempted me with Reddit, but I’m sure I couldn’t keep up a drawing a day like you do…is there room for slackers?
Plenty! I’m looking forward to seeing your drawings!
