Drawing of a bird in ballpoint pen after photo and poem by Drycrickjournal

Drawing of a bird in ballpoint penThis is a drawing I did after a photo i stumbled across this morning. I’m not sure what kind of bird it is – perhaps someone can help me out? It does look like a chick though.
The photo was acompanied by a poem in the “Drycrickjournal”. I really liked the poem that speaks of living alongside nature and having a place in nature’s routines. Even though I live in a city, I still get to listen to the blackbirds in the morning. Especially in springtime. I can really relate to the feeling of this poem!

The drawing is a quick sketchy one, as had been the case the last days. I like the fluffy, confused character of this bird, but it’s a little hard to render with a pen. Perhaps I should try mixing different pens into these drawings to be a little more generous with the ink in the dark areas.

This is my 411’th drawing since the 9th September 2014. I think I’m going to put the number down here in the future instead of in the title. It looks better that way.
