374 Portrait of José Eduardo dos Santos, the president of Angola, watercolor painting
The precision is not really there, but I like this technique. Well not that there is really a technique – it’s just dabbing around a little. Anyway – yesterday I did a pencil portrait, and this morning I sprayed it with “hairspray”.. It serves the same purpose as pencil-fixative, exept for having a strange perfumed smell that you can trace on all my sketchbooks. However – every time I try to save a pencil sketch, I somehow end up destroying it! The spray seems to diffuse through the paper, and somehow it allowed for the watercolor to go through to the other side.. Maybe the hairspray wasn’t completely dry. I’ll make another one.
