345 Portrait of Daniel Zaïdani
This is Daniel Zaïdani – the president of Mayotte – which is relly a department of France – but i just went with it anyway. I’m not really happy with it. He turned out a little too old and a little too evil. Pardon monsieur president.

He looks rather taciturn. Your skin tones and control of light and shade are great in this one. Confession: I had never heard of Mayotte. Apologies Mayottians.

Your watercolor portraits are getting better and better. How many have you done? Do you know? About how long does it take to do each one?

Thanks – well they’re small. About 10×14 cm – so they don’t take as long as big paintings would
