231 Portrait of Miles Davis

I seem to have somehow altered the perspective. This looks more like a frontal view than the photo. Maybe the background should have been another colour, and the sweater a little darker.
Nothing’s perfect and it’s the second day with a watercolour sketchbook – but i can’t help but being really smug about how these portraits are turning out! I think that I’m getting somewhere!
This is really good. I like the energy in your brush strokes.

Like it. Add a little grey into the whites and you will see an improvement, as the whites of anyone’s eyes are never white. The background color is a complementary color to the skin tones, which is a good idea. Keep at it, practice makes perfect. Portraiture in watercolor is very difficult. Look into using oil paint as it is more forgiving and allows rework.
