I’m quite satisfied with this! – It’s perfect, but it’s way ahead of the self-portrait i did this morning!

Nicely done! Today I begin my “Dumb Sketch December,” a sketch a day for the whole month. Thanks for your example.

Lovely application of tonal washes. But what makes this work over your self portrait is mainly the attention of detail of the eyes. Here they are good. In your self portrait you look like a noose is tightening around your neck. The eyes are the wrong shape – well I hope they are.
Take your time and pay more attention to the shape and size of the eyes. Generally in portraiture they are the focal point, so they do get the attention of the viewer.

Thanks. Yes i have some problems with my self-portraits. I’ll try again later today or tomorrow. It does look as though my eyes are about to pop out. I’ll see what i can do about that.

Fantastic! This is recognizably David Lynch. I also think your creation of skin tones is improving.

Excellent work! A great portrait that is clearly in focus and captures not only the image but the personality of the subject. Great work with the colors.
