see the photo here (yeah i wish that i could have drawn it in front of the real thing, but you’re not always that lucky..)
I didn’t spend a long time on this one, but i must say that I’m really happy with it!
Critique is very welcome.

You’ve captured the sculpture’s expression perfectly and the angle of the tilt of the head is just right too. I like the roughness of your pencil marks in this one and the great variations in tone. This is a drawing to be proud of.
Thanks! I’m quite happy about it!
great dimension and also emotional depth
Thanks!
good foreshortening and the eyes look better. Your self portraits seem to have curiously round eyes.
Thanks. You know, I keep looking at my self portraits asking myself what is wrong with them, and i find it really difficult to see anything. It’s strange why i do other portraits ok, whereas my self portraits look so strange. I have a small mirror, that i need to place far away to see most of my face. I think that it might help me to focus on the details if i had a mirror the size of my head, so i could move it closer, and better see the details. I might do a study of just the eyes at some point, to get a better look at them.
This is a very good sketch of Rodin’s statue. You have captured the perspective very well. When going back and forth viewing your work compared to the original, there is only one thing that seems to be missing. On the statue, Rodin’s mouth seems to express a sense of agony which your work doesn’t depict. Okay, I’m being nit picky but honest. Very good!!.
True, the mouth is the one thing that’s the most off.. It might be too open aswell. Thanks for your comments!
I really like this. Well done
Thanks!
It’s lovely. You captured it quite well!
Thank you very much!
